The journey of Pastor & Mrs. Lyles began at Alcorn State University where they met, fell in love and married on September 23, 1987 and also finished college that same year. They later became the proud parents of three musically talented sons, Christopher(Recent Graduate at Mississippi Valley State University), Joshua (Sophomore at Mississippi Valley State University) and Jonathan (Senior at Broad Street High).

Mrs. Lyles loves to shop, make others happy and have fun, while Mr. Lyles enjoys listening to music, watching TV and sports.

In February 1997, God lead this young couple from Atlanta, GA to Mound Bayou where she planned to help her father in Coleman's store. In March of that same year, we were desperate need of a pastor and he was encouraged by the deacons to preach. He was young, shy and nervous, but he agreed to preach. The title was "Returning to Your First Love". We were very impressed and he was asked to preach again and again. Romans 10:14&15 states, 'How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?"...

On September 10, 1997, he became the fourteenth pastor of Jerusalem and his installation was held on November 30, 1996. This is the first church he has ever pastored and he is the youngest pastor in its history. We had no idea what God had in store for us or where this journey was heading, however, God had big plans for us.

Our First Lady Dwana is not only an exceptional woman to him but to us also. She is a cheerful, pleasant and virtuous woman. Proverbs 31:1 states, " That heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need to spoil." She truly supports her husband and respects him as her pastor and gives him that little sweet, blushing smile of approval.
